Billy Phillips Named SuperBlue Academy Director
Posted: May 30, 2006
Billy Phillips, one of the most successful and longest-serving Sting coaches, has been selected to head up Sting's first-class SuperBlue Academy program. Billy played professionally for the Dallas Tornado, played for several Major Indoor Soccer League teams and was a player on the newly-formed Dallas Sidekicks, earning championship rings as a player and later as the Sidekicks head coach, where he was named MISL coach of the year. Billy was the originator of the Sidekicks camps and their 4 v 4 soccer tournaments.

As Director of the Academy, Billy will have responsibility for the management of one of Sting's largest and most important programs, the early training and proper introduction to select soccer for hundreds of young female soccer players. Billy will be responsible for all current SuperBlue Academy teams and venues and for the establishment of new locations, programs and curricula.

Billy's depth of background and vast experience in coaching, teaching and soccer camp management make him eminently qualified to make the SuperBlue Academy the finest of it kind in the country.
